This Blog is actually just an excuse for me to have a place to post a few of my myriad and always growing collection of photos! And, a way to keep my family and friends up to date on our activities.

Lazy, lazy

I can't believe how incredibly lazy I've been. I have lots of photos but not enough energy to put them on the Blog. I seem to enter a different "zone" when I am in Florida and away from the usual stimuli.

I've been walking a lot, and John and Granma and I have been to a movie and two concerts (including a beautiful, beautiful harp concert); Granma and I have gone to the senior center for lunch and Bingo (I won four times; she won once.) But I can't get her to admit that I've channeled into positive thinking. She's very teutonic and doesn't even enjoy bantering about immaterial things. I'm having fun with it, tho. (I won about five times the last time I went, too.)

Today she and I went to a free lunch at the nearby retirement community. The food was great and the presentation very interesting and low-key. It's a beautiful place, about two miles from our place here.

Tonight we're going out for dinner with Jim and Ann.

To sort of make up for the general laziness, I did climb up on the roof and clean out the gutters in the back of the house. John had previously done the front and side, but the screened-in lanai on the back precludes working from the ladder. John's knee precludes his climbing on the ladder at all this time here. So I scampered up there and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a low, low house, so not exciting, just fun.

John has been to the doctor and has had an MRI done on his left knee. We'll know next week if they can do arthroscopic surgery and clean it out like they did last year for his right knee. We're hoping that will be the case. He can get around, but no golf or walking anywhere at all just for fun.

Oh, and I got the SmithKith reunion planning off to a good start, with the help of David and Lisa. It should be a great place. All one house this time, nearer to Gatlinburg. Hope every one can come...hint, hint!

I think it's probably good for you both to be in the "Florida" zone! However, we're both pleased to have read your updates and hope for good results from John's MRI.

We'd love to join the family reunion (thanks for the subtle reminder:-), but I don't think Brian or I can commit at this stage:-(
