An eventful hike in the Smokies with Sheela



Wow! We saw a black bear drinking from the creek beside our trail ... then he climbed a huge tree nearby. About 50 feet up, he went out onto a side limb, rolled around a bit chewing on persimmon leaves, then lay down and relaxed with all four paws dangling beneath him. Sheela was able to call her Mom on our cell phone to tell her all about it while we were still there watching him. AWESOME!!

    That is fantastic! What a great treat - not only did you guys see a bear (oh so rare), but you got to watch him in action!
