Neilans

This Blog is actually just an excuse for me to have a place to post a few of my myriad and always growing collection of photos! And, a way to keep my family and friends up to date on our activities.

Upgraded

Well, OK, I'm using the upgraded version ... I just haven't changed the templates or anything yet. I'm happy to be on!

Back to Blogging

Well, I have recently experienced my once-a-year mind fart during which I actually sign out of my Blog, then cannot get back into it.

I think I'm OK now. I'm afraid to try to upgrade to the newer version ...

Still in Dallas

We are still enjoying the kids and grands in Texas. We will give them a break today, though, and have rented a car to drive to Granbury, TX. We will meet old friends there and spend a couple days as tourists -- apparently there are dinosaur tracks there, and museums and such. No pictures lately only because we haven't downloaded them from the camera to the computer. We are rediscovering how much time and energy it takes even to be in the vicinity of young children. Hard to have a complete thought in my head. I have finished up one photo editing project since we have been here, but it wasn't easy! Karin's in-laws are here, they are diabetic vegetarians (so they eat different foods on a different schedule than the kids, who are on a different schedule than the grands ... ) and Mrs. S. is still in a wheelchair (broken ankle) and Sheela has soccer games and practices and Sunil was at home all day one day (had a fever but was still full of beans) ... well, you get the picture. Controlled mayhem. Quite a contrast from our quiet lifestyle in TN by ourselves and even more contrast from our really quiet lifestyle in Florida with Gramma. Wouldn't give up a minute of any of it!!!

MonkeyPod

After admiring the "gorilla pod" of Tracy and Brian, I felt I should share a photo of our little version of it, which I have now dubbed the "monkey pod".

Dallas

We have landed safely in Dallas, after flying from Buffalo in between sleet, snow and thunderstorms. Having missed our connection in Chicago, and having been numbers 37 and 38 on the standby list for the next available (although much delayed) flight out, we were doubly pleased to be upgraded to business class for the rest of the trip to Dallas. It had finished sleeting here and had not quite begun the huge snow storm in Chicago, so we are feeling pretty perky today. Plus, the weather for the Christmas Parade should be at least in the high 40's at the time it starts tomorrow morning. I would've rather had the high 60's or even 70's, but it'll be better than the 20's. We loved being awakened this morning by little munchkins giggling and jumping into bed with us. Life is good.
