Neilans

This Blog is actually just an excuse for me to have a place to post a few of my myriad and always growing collection of photos! And, a way to keep my family and friends up to date on our activities.

It's Swamp Buggy time again!

There seem to be a lot of different shapes and sizes, and sometimes they mix things up in the heats, so there may be a couple of different classes racing together.
It's all very confusing. But lots and lots of fun!

And they're off!

I promise, we only go to these things when we have someone to take with us who hasn't been before ... this time it was Sandy's friends the Gilmans ... from Alaska. We just HAD to take them!

Swamp Buggy Races, cont'd

The rooster tails can be impressive when they get up to speed.

But when you lose momentum, it can really, really slow you down!

Another aptly named participant ... The "Frog Spit!" I pulled for him to win, based on the name alone, but, alas, no luck!

Can you see him out there, way down low in the water? Oh, well, there'll always be another day and another race.

Swamp Buggy Races, again!

The "Tar Buggy" lost one of his back wheels right at the starting line.

To add insult to injury, the driver of the "Tar Buggy" had to wade in and retrieve his own broken pieces.

One of the "rewards" for being the champion is the opportunity to pick up the Swamp Buggy Queen and jump with her into the water ... note the boat they're jumping from is the "Too Much Fun!"

We loved the Redneck windchimes for sale at the venue!
